Have a great (relaxing) weekend!

What are you up this weekend? It's skirts and shorts time, at last!, in Amsterdam, and I was planning to actually live in a pint of ice cream by a picturesque canal. However, with the shadow of cultural depression rolling in again, through the bitter deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, I want to squeeze in some reflecting time on how this sneaky illness affects people in my own environment. Independently of that, I hope you have a good one, and here are a few fun links I enjoyed from around the web if you are in reading mood…

Being surrounded with neuroscience fun, but also fake, facts at work can be exhausting, but this neuroscientific popular science book is a good one.

"It (neoliberal feminism) recognizes gender inequality, while simultaneously denying that socioeconomic and cultural structures shape our lives." Great read!

"Orbiting is the new Ghosting", and the Man Repeller's pop-culture articles are better than ever.

My friends bought me this book for my birthday, and I can't wait to start testing and putting things on fire (my house excluded)

These sustainably made, 80s inspired sneakers are so good, I have the white/garnet ones (also a birthday gift).

"The parents of one girl complained that she had become cheeky and defiant at home after being encouraged to say “No!”.Yes, bring it on Sweden!

Maan, kids.

Wanna be my best friend? It's gonna take us 200 hours more or less.

14 kitchen tips, spot on.

Déspina Kortesidou

Déspina Kortesidou was born with the April flowers sometime in the '90s in the sunny peninsula of Greece. She is a graduating master student of neuroscience & metabolism, and a born adventurer.

(3rd person statements sound so official, love it)

She founded In Whirl of Inspiration, back in 2011 when she was (just) a biology student, in the island of Crete. In Whirl of Inspiration started as a creative and writing outlet for when studying molecules, became too monotonous. Recently, she started writing a children book and a not-so-children's book about the civil war in Greece. She has a soft spot for cheese, elder people, and (her own) jokes, but can't tell any as she ruins them by laughing too early. She enjoys sharing advice for eating healthier, or inspiring people to cover themshelves with plants, color and confetti.

Feel free to email her at hello@inwhirlofinspiration.com, or find her on Instagram and Twitter. (breaking the 3rd person narration to thank you properly)

Thank you so much for reading!

A mixtape for all the girls who bang the drums, full of inspiration from 'Punk Singer'. Better to be listened in loud decibels because after all, girls are writing herstory.
