My Cool-Yool Dad

my dad is awesome

They say that can't choose your family and I am happy to have won the lottery in this case. Cause mine is awesome! I am lucky for that, I admit it. So that family's 1/4 has his birthday today.

If I could describe this family's 1/4 part with 3 words, these would be strong-willed, erudite & restless. It's hard living under the same roof with that person, you know, you end up setting skyscraper-high standards for everyone and everything and in the end of the day you end up arguing with each other about your favorite Asterix & Obelix and Lucky Luck magazines.

Thanks Dad for being so like me, so much that it gets annoying sometimes, thanks for being such an inspiration and teaching me to love books and outdoor activities. Thanks for having so skilful hands with everything, cause I also have and that's due to genetics. Thanks for being there no matter what.

Happy birthday! :)

Déspina Kortesidou was born with the April flowers sometime in the '90s in the sunny peninsula of Greece. She is a graduating master student of neuroscience & metabolism, and a born adventurer.

(3rd person statements sound so official, love it)

She founded In Whirl of Inspiration, back in 2011 when she was (just) a biology student, in the island of Crete. In Whirl of Inspiration started as a creative and writing outlet for when studying molecules, became too monotonous. Recently, she started writing a children book and a not-so-children's book about the civil war in Greece. She has a soft spot for cheese, elder people, and (her own) jokes, but can't tell any as she ruins them by laughing too early. She enjoys sharing advice for eating healthier, or inspiring people to cover themshelves with plants, color and confetti.

So, today is the day. Mammy's birthdays! Happy merry day mam you are the best.

No, seriously. She is.

:: First of all she is every. damn. single. time. right. For almost everything I would say. I can give her a 90% of success, of reveling the truth, of knowing how things gonna end in 2 or maybe 5 years. The other 5% goes to the things that are kept in the future safe from her "this is the right thing to do" and the other 5% is for a acceptable statistical error.

:: Then she is the most organized person I have ever known. No I don't mean organizing the dishes in the cupboards, I mean organizing life. She is a true master, an expert, a magician with that. Hats off! I wish I could be more like her and less like the little mess sometimes I am.

:: Also how would I be here with all my little tips and knowledge about crazy recipes, without her? She comes up with genius recipes all the time. She our little chef.

Mam you have so many aces in your pockets and you know exactly when to pull them out.

We all know it. :)

You know I am very lucky, my parents are awesome. I am grateful for this.

I had plans for this themed day, but... anyway! You can always read my last year's post for 4th of May! Lucky thing that I am not some kind of Jedi, who have to abide the code. 'Cause with the whole Easter day tomorrow, I could not stay away from the..ehm... not so light food!

A Happy Birthday for Me!

happybirthday-header.jpg

Happy birthday, Deborah! The entire Pukkelpop team hopes you have a fantastic day!

happybirthday-footer.jpg

Here's the mail that I received! Pukkelpop, like the festival that I am going to attend on August and happy birthday, because, ehmm, like the most of you I was born one day in the past. Yes, I didn't spring up, sorry.

A friend of mine reads the last "h" of my name, so the the Deborah (with h silent) becomes DeboraH! So, maybe the Pukkelpop team was fooled too and they believe that I am a man (hence the man in the picture) and the only son of a rich emir, who trades black gold and emeralds, (hence the crown on the man in the picture) in the far Saudi Arabia. My full name is DenoraH Ibrazim Hamza, nice to meet you!

♫ ♪ She & Him - Baby, It's Cold Outside

You must have noticed (and if you haven't, now it's your chance ) how rarely I blog about pre-holiday things. I neither made a gift/diy list before christmas, nor will I do this for the Valentine's day. Also,   I didn't do a summarizing and juicy post about the best movies to catch up with the BAFTA, Oscars, Golden  Raspberry Awards fuzz etc etc. It's not my thing, although I was tempted once or twice to do so, when I saw the massive response from all of you. But that's not for me, I find tiring writing such posts. Anyway, you just read the introduction to the post-holiday pictures that will follow. The pictures of the total and absolute laziness relaxation, 'cause that what my holidays were all about. But, let's take a look at a typical Christmas' day,  so that we can understand my situation.
