Déspina Kortesidou

Déspina Kortesidou was born with the April flowers sometime in the '90s in the sunny peninsula of Greece. She is a graduating master student of neuroscience & metabolism, and a born adventurer.

(3rd person statements sound so official, love it)

She founded In Whirl of Inspiration, back in 2011 when she was (just) a biology student, in the island of Crete. In Whirl of Inspiration started as a creative and writing outlet for when studying molecules, became too monotonous. Recently, she started writing a children book and a not-so-children's book about the civil war in Greece. She has a soft spot for cheese, elder people, and (her own) jokes, but can't tell any as she ruins them by laughing too early. She enjoys sharing advice for eating healthier, or inspiring people to cover themshelves with plants, color and confetti.

Feel free to email her at hello@inwhirlofinspiration.com, or find her on Instagram and Twitter. (breaking the 3rd person narration to thank you properly)

Usb Love & bloggish plans

usb love doodle.jpg

The "Usb Love Doodle" is a slightly autobiographical visual representation of my life lately. I'm every single day in front of my computer (this could be a love story) working and studying and writing for the needs of, I hope to be, the last exam period of my life as an undergraduate. *fingers crossed on that*

On the other news, I have so many things running for blog too guys, so many plans and changes. I will be changing the blog's layout in something more practical. Plus, I almost finished the travelogue of my Iberian Peninsula tour and I want to show you so badly all that tips and pictures waiting patiently in my hard drive. Last but not (at all) least, next week I will be in the happy position -if everything is ready- to announce something really cool here.

So cya very very soon - Debs

I am Back with a Bi-lingual Site!

Heraklion by the sea

You didn't expect something like this, right? No correction, you probably didn't expect nothing at all from me any more. " It's more than a month to show any online signs of life and internet is a place that doesn't forgive darlin'. bb", you though. However, this month of absence I run a hundred constructive activities and most importantly I, finally, found a way to separate the 2 languages in 2 completely independent blogs. This is huge for me in ways you can't even concept.

Obviously you will keep reading this blog and :

  • from now on all posts will be available only in English here and in Greek in the other blog (even the old ones). Any of you, who speaks Greek too, can read the other blog.
  • there will be a special button on sidebar's top to teleport you between the English and the Greek blog
  • each blog has its own menu now (the navbar below the blog's title) with the categories and all the information that you need to navigate here safely
  • and it has its own index too (seek for the calendar on the sidebar )
  • also from now on, In Whirl of Inspiration is in Flipboard too, click on to follow

Finally for you, that you follow me on Bloglovin' and you are from Greece, the Greek blog will have its own page there from now on. Make sure to check it out and follow me there if you want.

That's all for now, I happy to have this place running again like new. I want to show and tell you so many things, but there is time for this. Until really really soon,  all the best! :)

Welcome to a (New) World of Words

That's it! The old layout has gone once and for all. I loved the previous one, I had spent so much time making it from scratch and taken into account that I was Photoshop beginner, the result was so satisfying for me. Hey, wait a minute, I just realized that I am emotionally attached with a bunch of binary data. Attached with a blog's header that don't even has physical substance. Magnifique, I am ready for the the Tech-Addicts Anonymous therapy groups.

Anyway, the blog blog grew a lot the past months and so my needs from it grew. Better organization, consistency in graphic elements and the easy navigation were the things that were missing from here. And those of you, who hang out here for some time, you know that I was "re-designing" my blog from November (hello procrastination!).

So let's see the basic new luxuries that I have prepared for you:

  • The navigation bar and the social buttons moved over the title and I can feel a breeze of fresh air down in the posts.
  • The tags provide easy access to old posts, which would otherwise have been eaten by the digital Oogie Boogie and wouldn't see again the screen's sweet light.
  • Last and not least, I provide now payed bigger ads for some really low prices, except from ad-swaps- all the info is here.

Even though, a bunch of details lifting, the basics are ready and this -great- blog is ready to develop much better now. Also, I would like to thank you for all the feedback you gave me in the last reader's survey, I take into account many of them. So here it is fresh and side-splitting. What do you think about it? :)

New layout!
